2nd round match-up: Federer/Davydenko

The marquee match-up of Thursday’s 2nd round of the Australian Open will be #2 seed Roger Federer taking on former world #3 Nikolay Davydenko. Davydenko has made a late career resurgence, almost taking the title in Doha from Richard Gasquet until a strained hip flexor started to affect his play in the 3rd set. Federer, also 31, is still close enough to his prime form to be a contender for the finals. Coverage begins Thursday at 5 am on ESPN2.
